About Rowland
Rowland is an experienced recording engineer, mixer and producer. Having spent over 20 years in places ranging from portable setups on location and smaller studios up to large-format consoles and full Pro Tools rigs, he is at home in any circumstances and is credited on many music releases and film/TV productions.
He gained experience in some of the UK’s most famous studios (Abbey Road, Rak, Olympic, Townhouse..) as well as more down to earth facilities such as the legendary Truck Studio (Now Farm Studios) in Oxfordshire, and holds a degree in the Recording Arts.
Outside the studio, Rowland has also toured Europe and performed at major festivals with Oxford-based bands The Epstein, Ralfe Band and others.
He is now usually based from Strawhouse Studio, Oxfordshire, but is available for recording elsewhere - e.g. live performances at the Barbican Centre or BBC studios at Elstree, or anywhere we can fit a microphone (or several!). Mixing can be done from his home studio and tuition and consultancy are offered in recording, mixing and all sorts of audio-related stuff. He loves talking about microphones, compressors and reverb…
All projects are different and all budgets catered for, so please get in touch to discuss.
